Michigan Business Launches Committee Exploring International Expansion
Lansing, MI – Engaged Education has officially formed an exploratory committee to expand its reach beyond the
United States, into Egypt. The Educational Service Provider intends to open a local version of its flagship charter school, LifeTech Academy, marking the two-year old company’s first foray into the international marketplace.
The Egyptian-born Mentor with LifeTech Academy, Amina Khalil, is spearheading the committee. “There is a need there … a desire for what we’re doing,” said Khalil of the educational model LifeTech Academy is built upon. “We’re incredibly proud of Amina’s passion and drive to bring this educational opportunity to the Middle East,” said Matthew D. Anderson, Partner with Engaged Education.
“We’ve built a team of the most innovative people in the world of human behavioral development and education,” said Anderson, “their creativity is the reason our business is being recognized around the country, and now internationally.” That team includes current CEO and former Associate Superintendent, Angelina Zeller. “Our goal is to provide youth everywhere with educational experiences that are relevant to their lives,” said Zeller, who founded Engaged Education.
Engaged Education is focused on marrying the business and education sectors in a way that benefits both. By forming strategic partnerships with businesses and nonprofits, the students who are served by Engaged Education, have the opportunity to experience realworld, hands-on, project-based learning. This is the model that Khalil is planning on bringing to Egypt by the 2016-2017 school year.
“Egypt is now stable,” said Khalil, “and the young people want to be influential in the future of their country and the world. LifeTech will show them how to create and follow their visions for their lives.”
